Addressing The Problem
There are thousands of research papers on the Internet that deal with the aging process. After reviewing a number of these papers I am convinced that one of the factors under our control is taking a product that contains hyaluronic acid (HA). There is still a lot we don’t know about aging, however, we are learning that there are nutrients, phytochemicals and antioxidants that will fight abnormal cells called “free radicals.”
We are also finding out that billions of our cells do not produce enough hyluronic acid, as we age and this may be one of the causes of aging. By adding this acid back into our diets we provide the cells with an ingredient it is unable to produce in the amounts it produced when we were younger.
We begin aging as soon as we reach adulthood, around the age of 18. It affects the entire body and is usually a slow process that sneaks up on us. However, certain diseases, such as cancer or heart disease can cause the aging process to move at a faster pace. The brain is the nerve center that sends out electrical signals to all parts of the body to stimulate hormones that keep the body running efficiently. HA plays an important role in the cellular matrix of the brain!
However, as we age, the signals emitted by the brain may either speed up or slow down, affecting individual hormone levels. When this occurs, aging speeds up in certain areas of the body and will go beyond your chronological age. One of the keys to anti-aging or slowing the aging process is to recognize the earliest symptoms, which may be as minor as graying hair or wrinkling skin or a more serious joint ache or pain.
These conditions are usually explained away as “just a part of life and growing older.” Things like reduced libido, loss of muscle strength, getting shorter or memory lapses are also thought to be part of the inevitable. However these first warning signs and should be addressed as soon as they appear.
Today’s Health Care System
In my opinion, the medical care system is presently stopping us from living a longer, healthier life. Most doctors are conditioned to believe that by treating a specific illness with medication or surgery, you can
do a “patch job” then the patient goes back to reasonable health. They are trained to focus only on the area of the body where the problem exists and not the whole body. However, all bodily systems are interconnected and do not function independently. One problem may signal that another problem exists or is about to happen.
The Aging Code Signal
As you age, certain systems will fail, which may be the heart, lungs, kidneys or brain. The system that has either failed or is the process of serious deterioration will send out a “cellular code” to the rest of the
body. This causes the body to age more rapidly and it doesn’t matter at what age you are. The failing organs or systems are going to pull you into old age, unless you recognize the symptoms and take protective action.
Disease is a sign of an aging organ or system and can start to affect us usually anytime after the age of 25. A good example of a disease that can strike at any age is diabetes. High blood sugar levels can cause damage to your circulation, skin, vision, healing, and even weight gain. These symptoms are part of the “aging code.”
The Pause that Matters
As systems and organs begin to lose efficiency, they “pause” or slow down. To break the aging code, you need to recognize these pauses and try to correct the pause before it gets out of hand. You are only as young as your oldest organ or system. The following relates to aging through the following codes:
Plaque buildup in arteries – Vasculopause
Testosterone loss in men – Andropause
Losing brain cells – Electropause
Poorly functioning immune system – Immunopause
Bones becoming brittle – Osteopause
Muscle strength loss – Somatopause
Skin aging and loss of elasticity – Dermatopause
Decrease in hearing and sight – Sensorypause
Decline in kidney function – Nephropause
Problem with bladder control – Uropause
Poor nutrient absorption – Gastropause
Any one of the above pauses has the ability to take 10-20 healthy years off your life and these are just a few!
The Brain is the Control Center
The aging code will eventually cause our bodies to breakdown and deteriorate and die. However, and there is a, however, if you start taking care of your brain and the rest of those billions of cells that are sending out signals every second of every day. Healthy aging begins with an increase in brain function, since the brain controls the rest of the body.
An aging brain affects arthritis, heart disease, back pain and high blood pressure. To slow down the aging process, you need to provide you body with the ingredients to force the brain and the cells to function at their highest level. You need to restore your brain chemistry that affects your total health level.
To reverse (to some degree) or at least slow the aging process down to a crawl, you need to make life style changes. Your body is constantly providing you with telltale signs that it is starting to have a problem. Most people ignore these signs until it results in a serious illness or heart attack. A man of 50 may have a sudden heart attack and has never had a symptom that was related to his heart.
However, even though there were no significant symptoms, his heart was actually that of a 70 year old and small pauses were ignored. The attack was really not sudden, just not detected early enough.
The Clock is Ticking
The earlier that you recognize the pauses’, the earlier you can deal with the aging code and the better the results. Almost every medical condition has a 10-20 year pre-condition symptom or pause. In medical school, you are taught about the “rule of 60%,” which means that until an organ or system, fails enough to be noticed by traditional medicine, it is 60% diseased.
There is a state of health that is called pre-diabetic, pre-obesity or pre-hypertensive. Recognizing these “pre” states can make the difference in how long you will have a “healthy” life and not be debilitated for the last 10 years or more and having someone taking care of you. Changing your lifestyle in relation to diet, normalizing
weight, fitness and supplementation is critical.
Slowing Down the Clock
There are many hormones (over 20) that are reduced by the aging process as well as the loss of ability of body cells to produce or receive the healthy nutrients it needs through diet. Biologically active nutrients supplied by supplements that contain a balanced blend of these nutrients can make a significant difference in the aging process. Nutrients and supplements have the power to increase brainpower as well as improve the healing of a number of disease processes.
There are certain nutrients that can slow down the aging code and even break it! A wide array of healthy foods and a quality supplement program can make the difference. The wide array of foods needs to
include a healthy variety.
All of the colors of fruits and vegetables such as:
Red - cherries, cranberries, raspberries
Blue – grapes and blueberries
Green – kale, spinach, peppers, broccoli
Orange – sweet potatoes, oranges
Purple/Indigo – prunes, blackberries
Yellow – Squash, artichokes, peppers
Protein sources can include:
Eggs
Fish
Legumes + rice
Dairy products, low fat
Very lean meat
Chicken white meat only
Carbohydrates & Fats:
Brown rice, pasta, potatoes, 100% whole wheat bread
Extra virgin olive oil
Herbs and Spices are a must:
Coriander and cinnamon – fights increased blood sugar
Basil and rosemary – have anti-inflammatory powers
Cayenne – increases metabolism
Saffron and bay leaves – relaxation
Turmeric – cancer fighting
Garlic – increases heart action, blood cleanser
Ginger and turmeric – assists immune system
Exercise can improve brain function and slow down the development of and may even prevent dementia. Exercising 3-4 times a week will affect the aging code. A healthy lifestyle and quality supplement program will slow down the aging clock and reduce or eliminate the number of years you may be debilitated. You will also look younger and be more active.
