Supplements, Diets and Exercise

The formula for a healthy life is surprisingly simple to do, and amazingly hard to maintain. Let’s face it, we are a nation of short attention span, instant gratification, I want it right now kinda folks. That includes the results we want for reshaping our lives.

There is no magic in getting your body healthy, but procrastination rules. Funny how we want everything right now but we won’t take the first step right now. Then all of a sudden (not really sudden…..years of procrastination) we find ourselves way overweight, sick, out of shape, guilt ridden and just plain down in the dumps.

Most of us decide January 1, that we are “going to do it”. We are going to get on a diet, exercise, and start looking and feeling better. January 30th, we are overwhelmed with guilt because it all seems just too hard and takes too much of the time we already don’t have. We set ourselves up for failure!

So…… do we just give up and accept our out of control life style? Hopefully not. The key is to START. Make just one change in your habits. Then add to it in a couple of weeks. If you decided to take stairs instead of elevators and you do it for 2 weeks, you will feel proud of yourself and ready to add another step to accomplish your goal. Don’t try to join a gym, get the cook book out or buy all the produce for making juices because it is just too much. You will feel guilty that you don’t use the gym enough or not at all, guilty that you have to throw out all the produce that you didn’t use and very soon your plan will go out the window…..again.

We are what we eat. Period! But you probably won’t stick to a strict diet very long if you try to change it all overnight. Take one bad thing off your diet and replace it with one good thing. A good supplements (not just one-a-day vitamins) are easy to do, don’t take any time to prepare and allows you to start thinking healthy. Write down the bad foods that you eat so you can start eliminating them slowly from your diet. As you get used to eating better, you won’t miss all that fat, carbs and sugar. In fact you will probably not like them after a while……especially when you start seeing and feeling the results of nutrition.
